The Phillies will begin their title defense in front of not only sold out Citizen's Bank Park, but also in front of a national audience. That's right, the Phillies season opener will be broadcasted Sunday night on ESPN2. The April 5th night will likely be as cold as the glorious October nights we just finished.
The team is scheduled to host the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park on April 5 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2's Sunday Night Baseball, a distinction usually reserved for the team that takes the title the previous season.Cole Hamels will likely start the first game of 2009 after he started the final game of the 2008 season.
