Eagles Release Hunt, Sign LB Tracy White

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 ·

The Eagles have released RB Tony Hunt. They tried to turn Hunt into a FB, but he did not fair too well. He was so poor that they turned Dan Klecko back into a fullback. They then tried to use him as a short yardage back, but he could not do much then either. I'll miss him because he's a Penn State alum, but he just didn't cut it here.

Why did they release him? They had to make room on the roster for a strong Special Teams player in Tracy White. He was released by the Green Bay Packers last week. White should be able to help a coverage unit that has given up some long returns in the past few weeks. [Philadelphia Eagles]

In other NFC news, the Cowboys and Redskins were involved in the headlines. First, the Redskins signed RB Shaun Alexander to spell Clinton Portis as Ladell Betts is out for three weeks.

The Cowboys acquired a guy everyone in Philly wanted by the name of Roy Williams from Detroit. The Cowboys sent a first, third, and sixth round draft pick in 2009, so I can understand why the Eagles didn't exactly sell the ship for a guy who has not been the most consistent.

In other news, Dallas cornerback Pacman Jones has been suspended indefinitely by the league for violating the terms of his reinstatement. It will be for at least 4 games.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
