Cole Hamels pitched fantastic as the Phillies won 2-1, beating the Padres. They remained 2 games back of New York as they shit out Pittsburgh. Hamels (10-8) went 8 innings giving up 1 run on 7 hits. He also struck out 3. Brad Lidge came in to close his 30th game.
Pat Burrell hit his 29th home run to put Philly up 2-0 in the 6th and Jayson Werth drove in Jimmy Rollins in the first on a sacrifice fly after Rollins made it to 3rd on a throwing error. Nothing more to report because the game was fucking boring. Oh the Phillies struck out 8 times.
Thank God they are off tomorrow so they can figure out their shit when they come home to play Washington, LA, and NY.
