The Phillies beat the Giants 7-4.
After Cole Hamels gave up three runs in the fourth inning and the Phils went down 4-1, many gave up and turned off the TV (I won't mention any names). It seemed the Phillies were going to play down to a weak opponent again.
That was not the case. Jimmy Rollins hit a two-out, two-run homer to bring the Philies within 4-3. The Phillies tied the game up in the sixth off an RBI fielder's choice grounder by Carlos Ruiz.
Then in the eighth, the Phillies scored off of Rollins' and Gregg Dobb's RBI doubles, giving them 3 runs. Brad Lidge pitched another scoreless ninth, giving up one hit and striking out three.
Notable Phils:
Rollins - 3-5 with 1 run, 3 RBI's, double, HR
Hamels (4-3) - 7 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 7 K
Lidge (S, 9) - 1 IP, 1 H, 3K

A small introduction...
We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.
My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
