Sixers Remain in Playoff Hunt

Sunday, February 24, 2008 ·

While one Snider lead franchise is falling from the playoffs, another one is trying to get into the playoffs. Last night, the Sixers rallied back in overtime to defeat the Miami Heat for the third time this season 101-96 in overtime. The Sixers scored the final ten points in overtime to hand the Heat their 11th straight loss.

"We could have easily just given in, but we fought through it," Miller said. "We found a way to dig it out."
Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala combined for 48 points and 15 assists. Iguodala nearly had a triple-double, but he was one assist shy [24 pts, 12 boards, 9 assists].

The Sixers are winning the games that they're supposed to win even if they slightly struggle. The Sixers are holding the 8th playoff spot by a game over the Atlanta Hawks. Also, the Sixers are only a game and a half behind the Nets and two games behind the Wizards for the 6th seed in the East.

The Sixers host the Magic on Wednesday before they go on 3 game Western Road Trip against the Warriors, Suns, and Clippers. If they can find a way to split the next 4 games they should be starting off on the right foot entering March and the home stretch of the season.

I'm so glad they're still in the hunt! We need a Philly team in the playoffs, even if they're bad and have a losing record!

A small introduction...
