Villanova Pulls Off the Upset

Sunday, February 24, 2008 ·

Yesterday, Villanova ended the UConn Huskies 10-game winning streak with a 67-65 victory. The Senior-less Wildcats are really starting to grow up recently and they've credited the loss to Georgetown. Villanova is back to .500 in the Big East and hold a 17-9 overall record. If they can win 3 of their next 4 games and do well in the Big East tournament, they could find themselves possibly receiving an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament even after suffering a 5 game losing streak this season and have 2 losses arguably determined by two horrible calls.

Freshman Corey Stokes and sophomore Scottie Reynolds led the Wildcats with 18 points each as Villanova led for most of the game. Villanova hosts Marquette tomorrow night at the Wachovia Center.

I hope they can get into the tournament! Today's game is going to be huge! I can't wait!

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.
