Damage Control: Reid sort of agress with McNabb

Tuesday, January 22, 2008 ·

We've been down this road many times before. Those in charge of the Eagles say one thing and then do another.

From the Inquirer,

Andy Reid has said that he hasn't spoken to McNabb about his plea for offensive playmakers. However when asked about adding play-makers, he had this to say:

"If we have an opportunity to add difference-making players, obviously we'd like to do it," Reid said. "There are a lot of guys you're going to be looking at right now who are going to be tagged or signed back [by their current teams]. That's all part of it - you've got to go through it."

In the past, we've seen different things happen. It is extremely evident that they need a down-field threat. We do not exactly need a #1 WR, but we need a guy that has speed and can go deep, similar to Greg Jennings in Green Bay. Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown are #2s, but they actually did not do that bad in such in McNabb's down year. In fact, outside of Owens, Kevin Curtis had one of the best seasons for an Eagle wide-out since Irving Fryar and he should be even better next year. The biggest problem this year was the lack of a play-making TE. I think that could be their biggest need and it should have been addressed by drafting Ben Olsen last year instead of trading down.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
