According to Tim Panaccio, Daniel Briere will be out the next 4-5 weeks with a significant groin strain.
“The groin area has more than one muscle so it's probably related to the last groin injury, but this is a different muscle involved now than it was earlier. The injury is significant, so he's going to be on the shelf for a little while,” Holmgren said.[CSN Philly]
Briere has already missed 15 games season, so it is not as if this is something new for the Flyers, they've overcome it before and they've actually played well in his absence. The Flyers will likely continue to use the same top line of Mike Richards, Simon Gagne, and Mike Knuble because they have developed such great chemistry.
In better news, it is likely that Randy Jones will be ready to play this weekend in Carolina. Because of Briere's injury, the Flyers will not have to worry about making any roster moves because Briere is injured. Briere's tenure on Long-term IR clears $6.5 million in cap space. They will not need to worry when defensemen Ryan Parent returns either, but that will not be until January.

Why the Fuck do these morons keep trying to rush back from Abdominal/Groin/Hamstring injuries so fast? We all know how it ends up? You need A LOT of rest for these to heal properly, no need to rush yourself back on the injury report. At least this prick has an excuse...he's French Canadian :-)
yeah this guys always hurt lately. At least carter,Gange, richards have handled the scoring.
