Just like their Wachovia Center roommates, the 76ers have struggled with consistency all season. The Sixers felt to the Utah Jazz 93-80, after 22-6 run to end the third quarter and 67-63 lead. However, their 30-14 third quarter was quickly turned around when they only scored 13 4th quarter points to Utah's 30.
Last year, the Sixers relied heavily on forcing turnovers. This year, they're the ones turning the ball over, and they're often unforced. They're dribbling the ball way too much in the lane and when they get to the basket, they're missing the easy hoop. Sure, we mentioned chemistry being an early issue, but we're in game 7 now. A good portion of the Sixers team was here last year.
Andre Iguodala is starting to see his game improve this year as he had his best performance on the season (most of it coming in the 3rd quarter). He finished the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Thaddeus Young has his worst game as a Sixers. Though he contributed elsewhere, he shot very, very poorly (3-15). He did add 10 rebounds and 4 assists however.
The Sixers bench was out-scored 38-12. 38-12! You're not going to win NBA games if no one can score off the bench. As a whole, the team has had lapses and looked awfully lazy and careless. They're 2-5 for a reason.
They will try to avenge their season opener loss to the Raptors tomorrow night in Toronto.
