Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins and centerfielder Shane Victorino were awarded with Gold Gloves this morning to acknowledge their great defensive abilities. No, Chase Utley? Yes, we're shocked too.
Anyway, gold gloves rarely go to the best defensive fielder, but both Victorino and Rollins were very good fielding their position. Also, I don't want to take anything away from Cincinatti second-baseman Brandon Phillips. He is very good defensively and he won the vote from The Fielding Bible (though Utley lead all 2B in +/-).
Rollins received his 2nd straight of 2 career gold gloves and Shane Victorino was awarded for his first. Good center fielders? It is the second straight season that a Phillies center fielder won the gold glove (Rowand).
