Update 10/30

Thursday, October 30, 2008 ·

Let me just start off with saying: The Phillies have won the World Series! Now that that is out of my system, I can go on with a few updates, tidbits, and whatever comes to mind. Justin will recap the game and all of us will write a column on how we feel about this moment.

Phillies: If you don't know, stop reading. Brad Lidge stayed perfect for the entire season, Jamie Moyer got his first ring after 25 years of service, Cole Hamels was the MVP of the series, and the Phillies broke their 28 year drought and the city's 25 year drought.

And most importantly: PARADE IS HALLOWEEN AT NOON! It starts on 20th & Market Street down past city hall and will end at the stadium with the big celebration!

Sixers: They lost their season opener on a day that they were completely forgotten. The Raptors beat the Sixers 95-84. Lou Williams scored 16 points, Andre Iguodala added 15, Elton Brand had 14 points and 13 rebounds in his Sixers debut and Sammy Dalembert pulled down 17 rebounds. Andre Miller had 13 points.

Flyers: The Flyers will hope to continue their hot streak as they play the Islanders home at 7pm.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
