After speaking about his age, Brian Dawkins showed the Philadelphia media he can play at a high level. He didn't just impress the media and the fans but also the NFL as they recognized him as Week 3's NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Dawkins racked up 10 tackles, a sack, a forced and recovered fumble. On the sack, he flew over an offensive lineman and smack the ball out of Ben Roethlisberger's hand. He then recovered to scoop up the loose ball, setting up an Eagles field goal that secured their 15-6 win over Pittsburgh.
This is Dawkins' 3rd career Player of the Week award as he won it in 2002 versus Houston and 2006 versus the Giants.
