Stay Classy Philadelphia

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 ·

After last night's game, I just did not have the motivation to write a recap. My recap would have consisted of one word. "Outplayed" The Flyers were completely outplayed and a lot of the physical unforced errors that Flyers committed, were actually forced mentally by the game plan of the Penguins. The Penguins stars have shined and our top line has disappeared.

What can you do? Whether or not you feel that game 4 is the end, cheer your heart out. The Flyers are our team and they will continue to be our team. The team's accomplishments this year were amazing and the fans were well rewarded for sticking with the team through their miserable 2007 campaign. Don't boo this team tomorrow. Stand on your feet for the entire game and maybe they'll surprise you. We've seen all year that the team is incredibly streaky. One win could be a huge boost of confidence and anything can happen. It doesn't matter when you win the four games in a best of 7 series, but as long as you win 4, you move on.

If we do lose tomorrow, continue to cheer. The Flyers are currently built to be successful again for years to come. We all thought the Flyers would rebound and make the playoffs this year, but not many of us felt that they'd win to series to clinch a birth in the conference finals.

The window isn't closing. We're just beginning to open it wider and wider.

If they play flat and get blown out, the Boo birds will be out in force. If they keep it competitive or win, then you will hear the "classy" side of us. Let's Go Flyers!!!

I understand, but this may be the last time we get to cheer them on this year for the success they did have.

I have to agree w/ Justin and Bill. We have been blessed w/ a wonderful season but dissapointed at the outcome. The way this team is built, we should not have been out played or or lost to Pittsburgh so easy. The players should be applauded for an amazing season but booed a little for a heartless possible sweep to the Pens.

Some facts I've heard:
-it's been 33 years since the last come-from behind win in hockey and 33 years before that.
-this season is already magical. Why not it be more magical?

Roose, if we come back and win, I will buy you dinner at Morton's Steakhouse on Walnut st.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
