Back with a vengeance? The Flyers won their third straight game with a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders. Jeff Carter continued his extremely hot play by scoring the game's first goal and assisting a puck off Mike Knuble's skate into the back of the net for Knuble's 25th on the season. Braydon Coburn added a power play goal on the Flyers' only opportunity to put them ahead for good and Scottie Upshall added an empty netter.
Today's matinée featured large periods of whistle-free hockey and there were only 3 minor penalties. Outside of losing the face-off battle pretty bad, the Flyers dominated the rest of the facets of the game. The Islanders got their shots off, but many were from odd angles and they really only had a few scoring chances, though Biron did have to make a couple stellar saves.
Tomorrow, the Flyers will be on NBC at the Garden for a 12:30 showdown.
