Last night, Temple beat #20 Xavier 78-59 at the Liacouras Center. After leading by 3 [30-27] at half-time, the Owls knew their first half play would not be enough to pull of the upset.
With 11:56 remaining in the game, Temple exploded by going on a 24-7 run over the next nine minutes. Dionte Christmas, the conference leading scorer, had 15 of his 20 points come in the second half. Christmas also became the 44th player in school history to have 1000 career points.
The Owls made a season high 13 three-pointers. It was Temple's first win over a ranked opponent since Fran Dunphy took over as head coach.
