The Battle of the Winless

Tonight, the Flyers host the San Jose Sharks who come into Philadelphia losers of 5 straight. Our Flyers have lost 8 straight. Someone has to win tonight, right? Currently, the Flyers sit in the 8th playoff spot as both they and Buffalo have 66 points. There are 22 games left in the season, so the playoff scenarios are far from over.

Newly acquired defenseman Jaroslav Modry will likely make his Flyers debut tonight wearing the #25.

As the Sharks come to visit, a former Flyer favorite, Jeremy Roenick, makes his return to the Wachovia Center. What was your favorite Roenick moment? I think this was mine.

Flyers acquire Modry

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jaroslav Modry for an undisclosed draft pick. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Modry is 36 years old. He has 1G, 5A and is a minus 2 on the season.

Hopefully this means Kukkonen or Vandermeer will be benched. I'd like them to keep up Ryan Parent, but we'll see.
