Sixers Turn Red and Win

Wednesday, November 12, 2008 ·

The Sixers traveled north of the border tonight to face off against the Toronto Raptors. For the first time all year, the Sixers chose to wear their red alternate jerseys on the road. For the first time this season, the Sixers won on the road after beating the Raptors 106-96. Elton Brand had his best performance for the 76ers: 25 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 assists.

The best all-around performance came from Andre Iguodala as he was one rebound shy of a triple-double. His 18 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds were by far his best output all season. If the Sixers are going to get on a roll, they're really going to need Iguodala to get going.

The 76ers also saw great games off the bench from Willie Green and Marreese Speights. Green scored 17 points and dished out 9 assists. Speights, the rookie, scored 12 points and grabbed 7 boards, 4 off the offensive glass.

The Sixers had great ball movement tonight, which allowed for easy jumpers. They had 30 assists on their 43 field goals and they shot 6-11 from behind the arc. Brand was able to draw the double team and finally the rest of the team was able to knock down their outside shots.

The shooting has been the biggest problem for the Sixers. Defensively, they haven't been getting enough stops, so they were losing their ability to run the ball. Tonight they were able to run better with their 19 fast break points.

The Sixers will play the Pacers in Indiana on Friday.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.
