Lidge named Delivery Man of the YearYesterday, before the madness, Brad Lidge was named the DHL Delivery man of the year. The award is given to who MLB feels is the most outstanding relief pitcher in the regular season. Lidge finished the regular season with a 2-0 record, 1.95 ERA, and he saved 41 games in 41 chances. He was phenomenal for us all season long and he exceeded the expecations of everyone, except himself. He knew he could get back to his former self and that is just what he did. Earlier this season, the Phillies rewarded him with a contract extension.

Rookie Sbisa to stay with the Flyers
If you don't know about the NHL rules, any player who is signed to an entry-level contract can play up to 9 games before they count against the salary for the entire season. At some point, Sbisa could still be sent back down to Juniors, but he will count as one of the Flyers' 50 contracts.

Anyway, Paul Holmgren announced today that Luca Sbisa will remain with the Flyers for the foreseeable future. Sbisa has been one of the Flyers better defenseman during the young season. [Daily News]

The Sixers have pushed their 2008-2009 season opener to 6pm to allow fans to be able to watch the ending to game 5 of the World Series (if it happens). Also, all fans going to the game will receive Sixers rally towels upon entering the game. Also, when you leave, don't forget to pick up your schedule magnet. Go Sixers.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
