Defensemen (7)
Braydon Coburn, Steve Eminger, Randy Jones, Lasse Kukkonen, Luca Sbisa, Kimmo Timonen and Ossi Vaananen
Goaltenders (2)
Martin Biron and Antero Niittymaki
The suprises to make the team from the start of camp were 2008 first round-pick defenseman Luca Sbisa and forward Jared Ross. Both Sbisa and Ross impressed the Flyers staff enough to keep them. Ross is a bit of a tiny guy at 5'9" 170 lbs, but he can handle the puck and play well in his own zone.
Sbisa would have made the roster regardless of Randy Jones need for hip surgery. The Flyers have still yet to replace Randy Jones on the roster, currently carrying only 22 players. Bryan Berard may be getting another call, sooner than later.
