Flyers Nail the PAT

Wednesday, October 29, 2008 ·

The Flyers have found the winning way. Last night, they won their 11th straight game over the Atlanta Thrashers, 7-0. It was their third straight win on the season. When the Flyers scored their 7th goal, the Trashers announcers exclaimed, "And the extra point is up and gooood!" Lupul, Gagne, and Knuble each scored 2 goals. The Flyers power play struggled a little bit to start the season, but they're really starting to click now after scoring 3 power play goals last night.

Antero Niittymaki continues his dominance over Kari Lehtonen. Niittymaki has never lost a game to his fellow countryman Lehtonen. The win was the Flyers first shut out this seson. Whenever the defense faltered, Niittymaki made the save look easy. Since his recent hip surgery, Niittymaki has looked incredibly fluid from side to side. Also, his glove has looked better than ever. Sure, his number may not show it, but Niittymaki looks to be in 2006 Olympic form.

Lastly, the Flyers penalty kill unit looked much better. They also scored their 6th shorty of the year. They could hae hd their 7th, nbut Lehtonen stopped a Mike Richards penalty shot.

It was an all-around dominant peformance by the Flyers. Each line played well in their own zone for the first time all year. Luca Sbisa continued to impress and notches 2 assists last night. He's been great for us, but I hope his development doesn't stall.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
