Mike Richards has been handed the 'C'. Outside of maybe Kimmo Timonen, Mike Richards is easily the best choice for captain, regardless of his age. Leadership qualities are a human characteristic, not an obtainable skill or an age restricted duty. Sure, some people may not realize that they're ready to lead, but they will always carry those certain qualities.
“It’s obviously a privilege to be part of such a traditional organization, and be captain of it,” he said. “I am going to do my best to do it. We have a lot of great team leaders right now on our team, and you don’t have to change anything. I think everybody really helps out around the dressing room. There are so many leaders, you just kind of have to do your own thing and more worry about yourself and help out where things are needed.” - Philadelphia FlyersRichards is the 17th captain all-time for the Flyers and the fourth in as many years; however, Richards is in the first year of his 12 year extension, so he'll likely carry the 'C' for many years to come. Kimmo Timonen and Simon Gagne will be the assistant captains.
Also, is there a possible line change?
John Stevens is tinkering with moving Danny Briere to right wing and he'll play along side Mike Richards and Simon Gagne. Jeff Carter would center line two and Glen Metropolit would likely center the third line. The biggest questions coming into camp will be where Steve Downie and Claude Giroux play if they make the lineup.

Has Downie or Giroux ever centered? They would be a big improvement over Jim Dowd.
And congrats to Richards. He's my favorite player on the Flyers but now I have to have my jersey altered and have the "A" taken off and put a "C" on it haha.
