The Phillies made a few organizational moves today. First, the Phils placed reliever Rudy Seanez on the DL. He was placed on the 15-day DL with shoulder inflammation. He is also having some back problems.
To replace Seanez in the bullpen, the Phillies called up left-handed reliever, Les Walrond. Walrond threw a 17 strike out game against Louisville in July. He's been quite the journeman. Walrond has made 17 career appearances in the majors. He posted a 7.46 ERA and 1.93 whip in 25.1 innings with Kansas City and the Chicago Cubs.
In other news, Carlos Carrasco has been promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. For Double-A Reading, Carrasco was 7-7 with a 4.32 ERA and 109/45 K/BB ratio.
