We Appologize For the Lack of Updates

Thursday, June 12, 2008 ·

Justin Evans and myself apologize for the lack of doing the Marlins series, a key series as the All Star break is a month away. We were both extremely busy. I will continue with updates after tomorrows game in St. Louis.

After losing the first two games to Florida 5-4 and 6-2 (Dan Uggla's walk-off grand slam in the ninth), Jaimie Moyer took the hill for his 7th win of the year, beating the Marlins 3-0. He pitches 8 scoreless, walking 1 and giving up 3 hitters. His no-no bid was ended in the 6th with when pitcher Scott Olson singled off of Chase Utley's glove. Moyer also struck out 3. Brad Lidge got his 18th save, striking out 2.

Jayson Werth had the games only RBI and Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Pat Burrell, and Pedro Feliz had 2 hits a piece. Feliz added a double, his 13th.

The Phillies are now 2.5 games ahead of Florida and with everyone else losing tonight, the Phillies are pulling further from everyone but Florida.

Probables versus the Cardinals:
K. Kendrick (5-2, 4.87) vs. T. Wellemeyer (7-1, 2.93)
A. Eaton (2-3, 4.62) vs. K. Lohse (7-2, 3.92)
B. Myers (3-8, 5.34) vs. M. Boggs (1-0, 3.86)

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
