On a hobbled leg, Tiger Woods forced a playoff round by making a great put for birdie on the 18th hole yesterday. Today, he birdied the 18th hole to force a sudden death playoff. Woods only needed one more hole to win the battle that he and Rocco Mediate had. Rocco Mediate's performance was amazing and he would have been the oldest player to ever win a Major Championship, but he fell just short.
It was Tiger's 14th career Major Championship and the 3rd time that he won the U.S. Open.
