Flyers to Lose Timonen for the Remainder of the Playoffs

Thursday, May 8, 2008 ·

After beating Washington and Montreal, the Flyers seemed as confident and poised as ever. Unfortunately, one of those confident leaders is gone.

Kimmo Timonen took a slap shot to the leg in game 4 versus Montreal and did not return. He did come back and play in game but seemed in pain the whole game. After having several tests, x-rays, and MRI's taken, it is concluded that Timonen has a blood clot in his left ankle and will miss the remainder of the postseason.

The Flyers will have to go into Pittsburgh to the start the Eastern Conference Finals without Timonen, their top defensemen. It will be a tough series with out him. Braydon Coburn, Darrien Hatcher, and the rest of the defense will have to step they're game up. Marty Biron will probably see a ton of shots again without Timonen in front of him.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
