Wes Helms Traded to Marlins

According to FoxSports's Ken Rosenthal, Wes Helms has been traded to the Florida Marlins. He was designated for assignment on Wednesday.

I'm not quite sure why Florida traded for him when they could sign him in a week. Not sure what we got in return and it is likely a low prospect or just cash to pay off some of what we owe Helms. Something is better than nothing.
