Sixers Inch Closer to .500

Sunday, March 16, 2008 ·

Ladies and gentlemen, take notice, your Philadelphia 76ers is playing some of the best basketball in the NBA. Coming in winners of 14 of their last 18, the 76ers hosted the defending champion, San Antonio Spurs, in front of a near sell-out crowd. Behind an injured Andre Miller's 32 points and 7 assists, they Sixers knocked off the Spurs 103-96 for their 10th home win in their last 11 tries.

"We're just playing some good basketball, especially this month," Miller said. "We've held our own and everyone's doing a good job."
Sorry Andre, but your team is playing great basketball. The 76ers have gone from being 18-30 and barely in the playoff hunt to 33-34 and making noise in the Eastern Conference. Currently, the 76ers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Over the last 25% of their games, they are winning by an average of 7.71 points. Only the Celtics, Lakers, Rockets, and Magic have a higher margin of victory during that span. Also, who was the last team to beat the Rockets, winners of 21 straight, the 76ers.

Notes: The 76ers had only one turnover in the first half, the lowest total of the season. Last night's attendance was 19,942, which is a near sell-out. With Allen Iverson in town on Wednesday, expect another sell-out.

A small introduction...

We Hate to Lose began in October 2007. The initial purpose of the website was to provide news updates and commentary on all four major sports teams in Philadelphia. Because of time-constraints, in April of 2009, I decided to post only on my first-love, the Philadelphia Phillies.

My name is Justin Evans and I hope you enjoy the site.
