Last night, the 76ers absolutely dominated the New York Knickerbockers with a 124-84 victory. The Sixers had 102 after three-quarters. It was so bad that the Knicks fans who traveled to the game and some Sixers fans chanted "Fire Isiah!"
The Sixers had 9 players that played at least 20 minutes and not one player played more than 32 minutes. It was an all-around team effort. For the game, the Sixers had 36 fast-break points and 16 steals, 20 of those points came in the first quarter. It seemed like almost every other possession the Knicks were turning the ball over as they had 23 on the game.
Rookie Thaddeus Young had a career-high 20 points on 8-11 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds all off the bench as Reggie Evans got the start against Knick forward Zach Randolph. The Sixers starters shot 60% from the field.
They return to action Friday when they travel to Orlando. The Sixers currently remain in up a game on Atlanta for the 8th and final playoff spot.
In other news, GM Ed Stefanski said that there are no Sixers trades in the works before today's 3PM deadline.
"There's no deal on the table now that anyone should get excited about and think we're going to make," said Stefanski, the president/general manager.
