Yesterday, Peter Forsberg eliminated a number of teams from his possible NHL destinations. Philadelphia still remains at the top of his list along with Ottawa, New York, Colorado, and Vancouver.
The Flyers' equipment and medical staff are gearing up for Forsberg's possible arrival, according to the sources.Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, who is known to keep his Forsberg cards close, said yesterday that he has not heard anything from Forsberg's agent Don Baizley.
Meanwhile, Forsberg has not made it official that he is going to make a comeback beyond turning down a contract offer to play in Sweden and authorizing Baizley to start negotiating.
Asked if that worried him, Holmgren said, "He might know. He's just not telling us."
The 34-year-old center continues to practice with his old team, Modo, and is expected to make his decision known within a week.
