Saint Joseph's (1-1) lost to Syracuse 72-69 when SU freshman Jonny Flynn hit a 3 pointer with 5.3 seconds left to break a 68-all tie.

La Salle dropped their season opener 76-69 to Maryland-Baltimore County.
