Aaron Rowand, the Free Agent

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 ·

Aaron Rowand has officially filed for free agency. The Phillies have until November 12th to exclusively negotiate with Rowand. The Phillies are looking to sign Rowand to a deal similar to that of Eric Byrnes' 3 year, $30 million deal, but it has been reported that Rowand wants double the years and more than double the money.

Carlos Silva, Mark Loretta, Mariano Rivera, Francisco Cordero, and possibly Curt Schilling, once he files, appear to be their targets in free agency.

Pat Gillick has stated that pitching first, upgrading third base, second.

Don't get your hopes up with A-Rod and Lowell.

I'm actually pleased to read this. Gillick has his head in the right place and wants to go for pitching first. Now go for the right guys you prick!

A small introduction...
